However, I think the more interesting thing is how you combine vision
and speech. What they describe sounds like supervised learning of one
level of a speech recognizer (syllables to words) using only audio input
and output. Impressive, but not quite the type of learning environment
that is unique to a robot.
The robot has vision and has hearing. So you can imagine this kind of
scenario:
Human shows a picture of a dog
Robot says cat
Human says "No, this is not a cat. A cat looks like this." and
shows a picture of a cat.
What does the robot do next?
