: self-driving cars
The auto industry, stagnant for many years, is going through perhaps its
two most profound changes in the past decade: alternative energy
propulsion and this:
How are you, as electrical and computer engineers, positioning yourself
to be part of this revolution?
Two critical skills needed to be competitive in the self-driving car
market are signal processing (e.g., image recognition and object
tracking) and software (e.g., reliable, fault-tolerant software).
Our students at Temple need to rapidly advance their skills in these
areas if they want to be competitive in future job markets.
The next time you complain about how hard ECE 3512 is, remember that
this is your first course in signal processing and there is a reason we
require this of all of our students ;)
